Documentation quality, not distance, is the single largest variable in corridor performance.
Analysis of our own shipment data over eighteen months shows that documentation errors account for the majority of avoidable delay on inbound freight — ahead of border congestion and transport availability.
The most common issues are incomplete packing lists, inconsistent HS classification between invoice and declaration, and missing certificates of origin. Each triggers a hold that typically costs three to seven days.
Our response is to pre-audit supplier documentation before goods leave origin, and to classify at the quotation stage rather than at the border.
